What ? Wednesdays

What I learned this week was how to make electricity with a lemon, a clean penny, and a clean dime. We rolled the lemon around to get it juicy, and then cut two slits, very close together. We put the penny in one and the dime in one. Then, this was the interesting part: We put our tongue on the dime and the penny at the same time and we got zapped!

My Birthday!

Birthday Weather!

We had a day that was kind of crazy with weather. It would rain, and then the sun would come out, and then it would rain, and then the sun would come out. We finally decided to just have the party either way, but I REALLY wanted to be able to be outside. Right before the party, it was pouring down rain. The two pictures out the windows were taken at the exact same time, just out different windows--one was rainy, and one was sunny. Minutes before the party started, we had a double rainbow! I thought it was a good way to start out my party. It didn't rain AT ALL once the party started. It was cold, but we had so much fun.

Preparing for my Birthday Party!

I had lots to do to get ready for my birthday party on Friday! First, we made carameled apples (I did sneak a couple of caramels while I was unwrapping them!). Next, we made cupcakes and then frosted and decorated them. Next, I helped mom make my apple cobbler. I don't really like birthday cake, but I LOVE apple cobbler, so we made that instead. With dough, we made a "C" and a "J" for the top and then put an "8" birthday candle on top.
Then, I had to take a bubbly bath! I was so anxious for everyone to get here!

Turtle Towel

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Dixie were here this week and gave me my birthday present early while we ate with them at Mr. Goodcents. They usually have to give me my present late, but this year, they were early instead. I love my turtle towel and I used it for the first time tonight when my mom made me take a bath.

Jack-O-Lantern

This morning, Dad helped me carve my pumpkin. I had a lot of seeds in my big pumpkin. We are giong to plant them so we can grow our own. Stitch (I call him "Stitchers" sometimes), my dog, likes to lick me and always goes where I go. He is sad when I go into the house.

Birthday Party

After the pumpkin patch, we went to Uncle Jason's surprise birthday party. It was fun. His theme was the Oklahoma football team. My cousins, Preston and Jenna, from Nebraska came. All the kids played football.

Pumpkin Patch!

We went to the pumpkin patch and the apple orchard. I got a HUGE pumpkin that Dad had to carry because it was too heavy for me. I picked some yummy apples, too. When we were playing with Abbey, Maison, and Eli, we were surprised to see Jacob and Austin coming. They surprised us!

Carpet Shampooing!

I have been begging Mom to shampoo carpets--I love it! But, it is a lot of work to get ready and to do it, and so it took awhile until she was ready. We cleaned all the carpets and the couch. And, Conrad, Dad, and I even re-arranged the living room. On Friday night last week, when we did the living room, Conrad and I had to take turns. But, on Saturday, I told Conrad how much fun he would have going with Dad to do his errands. My trick worked! He went with Dad, and I got to clean all the carpets while he was gone!

Magnificent Mondays!

Today I am thankful for my cats: Ginger, Angel, and Mystery. I am thankful for them because I love them. They let me pet them, and Ginger loves it when I sneak her up to my bed to sleep with me.

What ? Wednesdays

Each week, I am going to start blogging "What I Learned Wednesdays" to write something I learned in the last week. What I learned this week was about a legend based on a true person during the Revolutionary War nicknamed Molly Pitcher. She shot cannon balls at the British and got shot by a musket ball that went through her skirt but did not hurt her!
I also learned how to write a cinquain poem. Here is the one I wrote about my birthday that is in just *16 * days.
Birthday
Friends, Fun
Singing, Playing, Eating
God created me
One year older

Magnificent Mondays!

Every Monday in school we fill out a little sheet of paper and write something we are thankful for and put it in a container. Every month, we draw out of it and read some of the things we have been thankful for. We decided to start putting them on our blogs, too.
Today, I am thankful for my mommy because she loves me.

Homecoming Parade

On Friday we went to the Homecoming parade, but this year I didn't get to catch candy because I rode on the soccer float. It was fun. I waved at my mom. When we got to my next-door neighbor, Forest, who was along the street, I had no more candy to give him. The person right beside me ate a lot of my candy before I could throw it. I realized that in this picture, he is also taking candy out of my bag! I threw the rest to the crowd.
There are pictures of my friend, Ethan from church who was on the high school soccer float and my cousin Michaela on her float. The other float was my favorite one. It said, "We're Hunting the Cards" because the Savannah Savages were playing the Cardinals for Homecoming.

Helping my Parents

Last weekend, we went to help my mom at the Liberty Fall Festival and then we went to Jake's football game, Grandpa and Grandma's anniversary, and a wedding. In my mom's booth, I helped serve samples when I wasn't eating them.
Another day, Conrad, my mom and I walked through a neighborhood in Saint Joe and put American Family door hangers on doors to see if people were interested in insurance.
I have learned a lot about Homemade Gourmet and American Family--if you have any questions about them, just ask me!!

Ginger and Angel in the Sun

This is Angel and Ginger, my kitty-cats, (shhh....don't tell Dad they were in my bedroom). Ginger is lazy and Angel is sleepy. Ginger is licking Angel's ear--I am glad they like each other. I like them because they play with me. I like both of them the same.

Soccer Games!!

We went to Ethan's soccer game on Tuesday and his was right before my game, so it worked out great. We got to eat at Subway in between. We won our game 4-2, and now we are 2-0. Conrad and I are the same color (my mom loves the color we are--she calls it 'periwinkle') but not on the same team. We named our team 'Blue Thunder'.

Piano Lessons

I started piano lessons and they are fun! Conrad is taking lessons, too, but he doesn't like them anymore. I am going to pass him up because I pass my songs every week, and he has a little trouble because he doesn't work very hard.
