On Saturday , Conrad and I went deer hunting at 3:00, and I shot my dear at 3:15. I had to wait for Conrad to shoot his deer, and he shot his deer at 5:30. He got a doe, and I got a button buck.

Eliana

My cousin, Eliana, came to visit. She is very cute. She loved my stuffed Grover. We went to the apple orchard, my soccer game, and we made cookies. She even held my frogs.

My dog

My dog, Stitch, is cute. He gives me kisses. He likes to lay in my blanket with me out in the yard. He likes to walk down and get the mail with me. I am happy that he is my dog.

Bean Plant!

This is my bean plant. I grew it from a seed. Every day, I mist it several times and watch it grow. It has two little beans on it and some that are about to grow. i can't wait to sample my beans!

Look What I Caught!

After summer school last week, we went to a fishing day at Savannah Reservoir sponsored by the library. I won a tackle box as a door prize, and I made it on the news!! I caught a bluegill and you will have to watch the video to see what else I caught. The librarian also brought cookies, so it was a really good day!

Aunt Marlene

We got to visit with Great Aunt Marlene because she came to Grandma's to go with her to Branson. She lives in Minnesota. I really like her because she is nice. I wish I could have snuck in their car to Branson because I would really like to go to Celebration City!

First Chess Tournament

I took chess in our homeschool classes this last year. On Saturday, I went to my first chess tournament. I liked it a lot, and I want to take chess again next year.

I got 5th place for K-3, adn I was in the top 4 homeschoolers, so I made the homeschool team, and we got 1st place! We weren't expecting that I would do very well since it was my first tournament.

If anyone knows how to place chess, I always need to practice!

Baby Kittens!

Two weeks ago, our gray cat had baby kittens on the very top floor of the cat house. We could not reach them or see them, but we could hear them. About a week ago, we discovered that the mother cat had accidentally gotten locked into the garage. She was so thirsty and hungry, and we immediately were worried about her babies since she had been locked in for almost two days before we realized it. We could not hear babies or find babies anywhere, and we were sure they were dead. We were very sad.

Today, we were putting groceries in the freezer in the garage, and we heard "meow" "meow". We looked in the boat, and there were four kittens ALIVE! Luckily, the garage door had been opened just enough for her to get in to feed her babies. The cats LOVE to have kittens in Dad's boat---he is not happy about the boat, and he is not happy about more cats! He said we can't keep any, but we are going to keep working on him in hopes he will let us keep one.

Surprise while Hunting!

Regan, Dad, and I built a tower blind for hunting. One of our friends built a birdhouse for the side of the tower blind, and we put in wood shreds, hoping some birds would come. On Friday, Dad and I went turkey hunting (I didn't get a turkey). I asked Dad if we could check on the blind. I looked in the box and saw tiny, baby squirrels! I am hoping to go back out and get pictures soon. I had never seen baby squirrels before, and they were so cute!

MS Walk

On Saturday, April 10th, we did the MS Walk. Last year, I just rode with Dad in the golf cart to give rides to people who couldn't finish. But, this year I joined the team and walked. My favorite part of the day was the muffins for breakfast!

Basketball Practice

I am playing basketball this year with Upward. My cousin, Eli, is on my team. It is a lot of fun, and our first game was on Saturday. I really like it because I get to learn how to play, and I like my team and my coach. We play every Saturday for 8 weeks.

Ice Fishing

On Sunday afternoon, Dad, Conrad and I (and Stitch) went out to the pond to ice fish. The ice was about 6 or 7 inches thick. First, we cut four small holes with a chainsaw. Then, we put worms and power bait on the hooks, and then put it in the hole. We didn't catch any fish, but I LOVED it. We only get to do it about once a year, and I was very sad when it was time to come into the house.

Science Experiments

On Tuesday, I had my first 12 week Science Experiment class. We studied about germs, and did an experiment on the best way to clean our hands of germs. We tried just cold water, just warm water, cold water with soap, warm water with soap, and hand sanitizer. Each time, after we washed them, we put some orange stuff on our hands, turned on a black light, and it showed where the germs still were.
I learned that warm water and soap is way better than any others for getting rid of germs. I also learned that hand santizer did nothing to eliminate germs. My mom hopes that I will use what I learned and do a good job washing my hands!

3rd Snow

This is our third snow and we got five inches this time! The first time we got 10 inches and the second, we got 5 inches! I don't ever remember this much snow! I made a long tunnel, and got stuck in a snowdrift. I loved playing with my dog, Hershey in the snow because it was his first snow, and he loved it. He also got stuck in the snowdrift.

My Meal Creation

I asked Mom what we were having for supper, and she asked what I wanted. I said, "hamburgers," but she didn't have any. She said she didn't have penne or spaghetti either. So, I looked at what we did have, and I told Mom that I would create supper! I cooked lasagna noodles (whole wheat) and then grilled some chicken. I cut the chicken into strips, and cut the lasagna noodles into thirds. I rolled up the chicken strips and put them in a pan. They looked so cute because I could put two of them across the dish. Then, I covered it with spaghetti sauce and white cheese and baked it! Mom and Dad and I all really liked it (Conrad doesn't like many things with spaghetti sauce). You will have to try it!
